The Log Lady - Twin Peaks by Yamallow The Log Lady - Twin Peaks by Yamallow
***UPDATE***
I have sent the original piece to Catherine Coulson, the actress who played The Log Lady in the series. She sent a note thanking me for the sketch card, along with a signed photo, a signed card with her custom "log" stamp, and the Star Pics trading cards I shamelessly asked her to autograph to me and a friend. She really made my day, and I'm extremely grateful~ The photo is framed on the wall above my desk.

The Log Lady, AKA Margaret Lanterman, is one of the stranger residents in the town of Twin Peaks. She plays a very important role in the series, and assists Agent Cooper in his quest to solve the murder of Laura Palmer.

From the wiki (because I can't write a better description):
The Log Lady is a fixture in the town of Twin Peaks by the time of Laura Palmer's murder, and most residents in the town regard her as crazy. This is mainly due to her habit of always carrying a small log in her arms, with which she seems to share a psychic connection, often dispensing advice and visions of clairvoyance which she claims come from the log; prior to the murder, she delivers moving and cryptic warnings to Laura Palmer herself. The Log Lady does not interpret the messages transmitted by the log, but instead functions as a medium for the information it conveys.

This version was drawn on a trading card size piece of bristol paper with ink and markers. 2.5 x 3.5 inches. Shown slightly larger than actual size. The scanner washes out some of the solid black inks.

If you haven't seen Twin Peaks, start with the US version of the pilot. It's probably my favorite live action TV drama series of all time, even though it never had a proper ending.

First having watched Twin Peaks, The Log Lady tipped me off to just how wonderfully weird of a show I was in for. Fast-forward to the end of the series, and I'd argue that she had some of the most memorable lines in the entire show! A unique character to be sure.

Anyway, great work on this! And major props for getting this picture to Catherine Coulson as well!

Thank you~ It was a lot of fun to work on. I'm glad she liked it, and didn't reply with "never draw me again, or ELSE!" Laughing

I'd love to read a whole novel about her, but at the same time I love her as the mystery she is ^^

It's a fantastic show, and totally unique. Many people try to imitate it, but nobody even comes close in my opinion! It was really cool to be able to contact one of the people who was involved in the series.

It must have been! I was "dragged" by Mother to see Twin Peaks, she loves it and asked me to hunt it down and I ended up seeing too. Too bad I can't find the episodes online...

You might see if you could find a new or used copy of the two early sets or the gold box set on dvd. Perhaps on amazon? I hope you can find them all, it's such a weird and wonderful series~

Awesome~ That's actually what I was hoping for!

In the series, the curtains appear behind the trees, and act as a gateway to another place: "the waiting room." From there, one may attempt to enter the White Lodge... or the Black Lodge.

Twin Peaks is actually a TV series, and a very odd one at that. It was made back in 1990, and ran for two seasons. The pilot (technically the first episode) begins with a resident finding the body of a local high school girl, who's been murdered.

"She's dead - wrapped in plastic."

Torrents have the whole series, or you can netflix the gold box set, since that has all the episodes and the pilot. Just be sure and watch the pilot first. :) There's nothing else like it!

My bad ^^; a little old school there eh? I like watching old films or anything before 2000 :XD: Is it a horror or thriller type of thing? :O just wanna get my heads up on it before I start watching... :)

It's got a lot of different elements, but it's mostly a surreal drama mixed with a little strange humor and very unique visuals. You'll find yourself experiencing a lot of emotions while watching this one. It's a mixed bag, but well worth viewing. Just remember, you have to make sure to watch the pilot episode first, as it gives the complete introduction to the characters and town. I really hope you get a chance to check it out soon!

Actually, since Twin Peaks is from 1990, it predates Alan Wake by about two decades. Their character must be a tribute to the Log Lady~

Yes, you will love the game. The story is just as good as silent hill, and the gameplay is fun! I can't express how great it is!

I'm thinking of watching Twin Peaks now, it would be nice to watch something older.

The show does have a unique look and feel to it. It's unlike anything else. Blue Velvet is sorta similar, although it's a lot more dark and violent.

Enjoy the show~

Thank you. The Log Lady was the reason I initially checked out the show. I only found out about it because either Mad magazine or Cracked did a piece on it, and she really stood out. I had to check out the actual show.
